Behavior Technician, Residential Treatment Join to apply for the Behavior Technician, Residential Treatment role at I Am Boundless This position will be working directly in a residential therapeutic setting with individuals who need behavior stabilization with diagnoses of autism spectrum disorder, behavioral health conditions, and/or developmental disabilities. Constant engagement and supervision of individuals will be required, including implementation of Applied Behavioral Analysis, highly structured Behavior Support Plans, and other therapeutic approaches. Crisis intervention is expected for self‑injury, aggression, and high‑magnitude disruptive behavior. Base pay range $38,390.00/yr - $45,765.00/yr Essential Functions / Responsibilities Demonstrate accurate implementation of educational, skill acquisition, and behavior reduction plans as taught in initial and ongoing training sessions and based on supervisor feedback. Provide intensive behavioral health treatment, including skills development, problem solving, conflict resolution, emotion/behavior management, positive coping mechanisms, and support for vocational/school or independent living opportunities. Implement crisis interventions as needed to maintain safety. Collect data and maintain all records accurately following Boundless procedures. Organize and maintain residential and instructional area/materials; prepare and keep reinforcement and program materials organized and accessible. Complete documentation required for the individual in compliance with Boundless policies and procedures. Identify concerns with program goals and interventions and communicate these to the supervisor. Perform home duties, including cooking, cleaning, laundry, grocery shopping, and lunch preparation, as part of the individual’s care plan. Support individuals with adaptive life skills (bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, etc.). Ensure safety, health, and well‑being of all individuals; report unsafe conditions and injuries. Transport individuals as needed; operate Boundless vehicles or own vehicle, maintaining vehicle appearance and fuel. Assist in maintaining household and individual files for compliance with local, state, and federal standards. Report unusual incidents and communicate medical situations as required. Seek, receive, and apply feedback appropriately, and work toward goals developed with supervisors. Dress appropriately and arrive on time for work. Perform first aid as trained and designated. Communicate professionally with individuals, team members, outside professionals, and parents. Read and follow the employee handbook and all Boundless policies and procedures. Complete all trainings assigned. Within 60 days of hire, successfully complete required physical crisis management training(s) and certification(s) applicable to the program. Involve individuals in community events and activities to the extent possible. Monitor individual health and report concerns to nursing staff or supervisor. May perform delegated nursing tasks. Perform any related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications At least 18 years of age. High School Diploma or equivalent. Ability to communicate in English, both spoken and written. Licensure / Certification First Aid, CPR (adult, child, infant); delegated nursing. Valid Ohio Driver’s License with Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles; proof of auto insurance. No more than 5 points on license. Preferred Experience Three years of experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorder, intellectual/developmental disabilities, and/or behavioral health conditions. Experience implementing Applied Behavior Analysis. College Degree in a related field. Special Skills and Requirements Detail oriented with strong literacy, writing, documentation, communication, and interpersonal abilities. Ability to use tools and equipment, including pushing/pulling wheelchairs and lifting with hoists. Work in residential treatment or community settings; use standard office equipment such as computers and phones. Physical Demands Maintain physical exertion for up to 45 minutes per episode. Ability to kneel, squat, crouch, crawl, sit, stand; lift up to 50 pounds; restrain/hold/transport individuals as needed. Respond quickly to sounds and dangerous situations; use personal protective equipment as required. Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Complete trainings and apply knowledge to work with individuals served. Perform first aid medical procedures when necessary. Accurately document required data. Operate professionally and communicate effectively with individuals and team members. Accept and implement feedback and constructive criticism related to job duties and performance.
