Job Summary:


The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Medical/Surgical (Med/Surg) unit is responsible for providing direct patient care to adult patients with various medical conditions and post-surgical needs. This role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans while collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure high-quality treatment and patient safety in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
• Monitor patient conditions and promptly report any changes to the healthcare team.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and progress.
• Educate patients and their families regarding treatment plans and discharge instructions.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, therapists, and support staff to provide comprehensive care.
• Adhere to facility policies, procedures, and patient safety standards.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
• Previous experience in Medical/Surgical nursing preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience working in interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation systems.
• Additional certifications relevant to Med/Surg nursing.

Special Considerations:

• Work involves direct patient care in a medical/surgical hospital unit.
• Must adhere to all facility and patient safety protocols.
• May require flexibility to respond to patient care needs and emergencies.

Scheduling:

• 36 hours per week on a travel contract basis for 13 weeks.
• Shift assignments determined by facility needs; may include day or evening shifts.
• Position is not remote; requires on-site presence at the assigned location.
