Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Medical/Surgical (Med/Surg) unit is responsible for providing direct patient care to adult patients with various medical conditions and post-surgical needs. This role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans while collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure high-quality treatment and patient safety in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
Monitor patient conditions and promptly report any changes to the healthcare team.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and progress.
Educate patients and their families regarding treatment plans and discharge instructions.
Collaborate effectively with physicians, therapists, and support staff to provide comprehensive care.
Adhere to facility policies, procedures, and patient safety standards.

Required Skills & Certifications:

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
Previous experience in Medical/Surgical nursing preferred.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

Experience working in interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation systems.
Additional certifications relevant to Med/Surg nursing.

Special Considerations:

Work involves direct patient care in a medical/surgical hospital unit.
Must adhere to all facility and patient safety protocols.
May require flexibility to respond to patient care needs and emergencies.

Scheduling:

36 hours per week on a travel contract basis for 13 weeks.
Shift assignments determined by facility needs; may include day or evening shifts.
Position is not remote; requires on-site presence at the assigned location.
