Physician - Hematology Oncology

Job Title

This Physician is a team member of the Hematology Oncology Department within the Medical Service and practices at the independent clinical level of practice.

The Physician has specialized knowledge of practice related to assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of a variety of Hematology/Oncology conditions. The field of hematology disease deals with disorders of blood and coagulation disorders. The field of Oncology is the branch of medical science concerned with the study and treatment of patients with malignancies of any organ system. Specialists in this field are responsible for the nonsurgical care of a wide range of diseases, treatment and prevention of blood diseases and cancers.

Major duties but not limited to:

• The physician will perform or assist in related procedures.
• The Physician works as a member of the Hematology/Oncology Medical team at the Hershel "Woody" Williams campus of the Huntington VA Hospital. There may be sometimes that the clinician would have to visit a CBOC for the purpose of meetings or trainings.
• Supervision of oncology fellows. (Providing guidance, oversight, and support to physicians who are in advanced training to become oncologists.)

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm
