Patient Care Assistant

The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) provides continuous observation and personalized care for patients under the supervision of a licensed nurse. Responsibilities Include Monitoring patients closely and providing evidence-based de-escalation techniques Maintaining a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors Performing direct care tasks such as taking vital signs and transporting patients Stocking linens and supplies, and documenting observations and interventions accurately in EPIC Promptly alerting nursing staff to patient changes or signs of distress Following all protocols related to patient observation and safety, while maintaining professionalism and a calm demeanor Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association Preferred: at least one year of healthcare experience and familiarity with medical terminology and electronic medical records (EPIC) Proficiency in Microsoft Office or similar software is required Skills: attentive, vigilant, able to de-escalate situations, organized, professional, and capable of working independently in a healthcare setting. #J-18808-Ljbffr
