Logistics Operations Supervisor

Job Summary The Operations Supervisor monitors all operations including processing shipments, preparing paperwork, communicating freight status and dispatching drivers for pick up. The supervisor serves as the primary interface between Pilot Freight Services, customers, sales, system operations, and vendors, providing quality customer service while meeting company policies and procedures. Essential Functions Conduct ongoing process analysis of operational systems, procedures, and staffing to drive continuous improvement in operating efficiencies. Assist the District Manager with general tasks. Ensure safe operations and compliance with all OSHA regulations, applicable laws, and Pilot’s Corporate Policies. Effectively train, supervise, coach, and evaluate all direct reports to foster good communication and morale. Review operational key performance measures monthly and benchmark data to drive required correctional or improvement strategies. Communicate freight status and any problems to customers, vendors, and other Pilot stations and personnel. Handle freight via forklift. Load/Off-load trucks for optimal routing. Perform other duties as assigned. Skills & Competencies Customer service background preferred. Ability to read key elements of financial statements. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Superior organizational and time‑management skills. Approachable and motivated. Knowledge of logistics systems. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Ability to thrive in a high‑pressure environment.
