Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night shift assignment supporting adult med/surg, adult critical care, and general pediatric patients with Trauma Level II experience required.

Details

• Care for adult med/surg, adult critical care, and general pediatric patient populations
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
• Facility may accommodate a block schedule of 3 shifts in a row, but this is not guaranteed and no longer stretches will be scheduled
• Cerner charting system experience preferred
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Trauma Level II experience required

Requirements

• Current RRT certification required (CRT not accepted)
• License required if applicable
• Minimum 2 years of experience in the profession
• Prior travel experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, PALS
• Skilled in ventilator management including CPAP, BiPAP, high frequency oscillator, and IMV
• Experience with airway management including intubation, extubation, and tracheostomy care
• Experience drawing and interpreting arterial blood gases (ABGs)
• Experience with neonatal/pediatric equipment such as bubble CPAP, oscillating ventilator, and high frequency jet ventilator
• Experience administering medications including Albuterol, Atrovent, Flovent, Nitric Oxide, and other respiratory medications
• Experience caring for patients with ARDS, aspiration, bronchoscopy, COVID, cystic fibrosis, and fresh tracheostomy
• Experience with pulmonary function testing including spirometry

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory care across adult critical care, emergency department, NICU, and pediatric settings
• Perform chest physiotherapy, pulmonary hygiene, and sputum specimen collection
• Assist with high-risk deliveries and neonatal intubation as needed
• Manage patients on various ventilator types including oscillating and high frequency jet ventilators
• Facility conducts its own onsite drug screen upon arrival, including marijuana testing, with any positive result resulting in automatic cancellation
• Local candidates within 50 miles are not accepted for this position
