About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse (RN) Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2+ years of experience, post-operative open heart care experience License: Active Ohio or Compact RN License Certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA) Must-Have: - Chest tube and other drain management experience - Pre- and post-procedure care for patients with radial and femoral access - Proficiency in cardiac monitoring, including reading and interpreting cardiac rhythm strips - Advanced knowledge of cardiac and pulmonary abnormalities - Experience with procedures and equipment, including assisting with chest tube removal, management of temporary pacers, and troubleshooting of non-invasive ventilation devices - Ability to float to all units within skill level Description: The Registered Nurse assumes responsibility and accountability for the care of assigned patients during their shift. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care using age-specific criteria. Judgments are made based on scientific knowledge and clinical skills. The RN also assists in planning, directing, and teaching non-RN staff such as LPNs, PCTs, and Unit Secretaries.
