Position Information Position Title: Campus Recreation - Junior Graphic Designer Requisition Number: H01114P Position Category: Hourly/Work Study Campus Location: Weber State University - Ogden, UT Hours per week: 10-15 Months per year: 12 Pay Grade: Hourly Pay Rate $13.25 Job Summary/Basic Function This is a pooled position. Applicants are selected from the pool as positions become available. After a period of time, the pool will expire and applicants will be notified. The Campus Recreation student junior graphic designer is responsible to assist the Marketing Graphic Designer and Marketing Coordinator with designing print and web graphics for all of the Campus Recreation program areas, including flyers, posters, manuals, brochures, web banners and more, that effectively represent the mission, vision and goals of the department and program area. The position will be responsible for updating and adapting existing graphics as well as producing graphics from concept through production. This position will help prepare the student for a career in graphic design through hands‑on experience, including communicating with clients from a variety of program areas, fulfilling project requirements, designing within printer specifications and meeting deadlines. It will also provide the student with design pieces for their portfolio. This position reports to the Marketing Coordinator. Required Qualifications Creative design skills and demonstrable knowledge of composition design. Working knowledge of the Adobe Suite (Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop). Ability to take publications to the copy center or printing services for print. Outgoing and willing to help plan activities and events. Preferred applicants have award‑study status and can provide documentation. Preferred Qualifications Self‑motivated Knowledge of AP Style Organized and detail oriented Drive to learn about the industry Responsibilities Designing clear and engaging graphics for print (including flyers, posters, brochures, banners). Adapting print designs for web applications (social media graphics, web banners, digital graphics for the CR & Davis Digital Signage). Following WSU branding standards. Completing designs by assigned due dates. Continued training through personalized training programs via LinkedIn Learning. Provide a safe environment and safe activities for all participants (Leadership and Management). Provide care in emergency situations when necessary (Critical Thinking). Maintain a professional, friendly, attentive presence. Assist with maintenance and cleanliness of all facilities. Educate, observe and enforce all facility rules in a friendly and helpful manner (Critical Thinking). Educate participants on benefits of fitness and wellness. Maintain current CPR and First Aid certifications. Attend mandatory monthly meetings, orientations and staff development workshops (Responsibility and Accountability). Provide excellent customer service that encourages a climate of mutual respect.
