Job Title: Production Assembly Technician (Assembler)
Job Description
This role focuses on fabricating barrier filters and aero structures for commercial and military rotorcraft, producing engine inlet air filtration systems that protect engines from unscheduled maintenance or replacement. You will perform precision mechanical assembly, including close-tolerance drilling, countersinking, fastener and rivet installation, trimming, and sub-assembly work, while following established procedures and maintaining accurate production records. Success in this position requires strong technical and mechanical aptitude, careful attention to detail, and a commitment to quality and first-pass yield.

Work Environment
The position is based in a climate-controlled, low-volume assembly environment, primarily in a small shop where most work is performed seated at a bench. Candidates must be open to a Monday-Friday schedule, working a 4-day, 10-hour shift either Monday-Thursday or Tuesday-Friday, with typical start times at 5:00 a.m. or 6:00 a.m. There will be significant voluntary and some mandatory overtime, and candidates must be willing to work extended hours that can reach 50+ hours per week. You will regularly use hand tools and power tools such as pneumatic squeezes and battery-operated drills, and may progress to using rivet guns as experience grows. The setting allows individuals to be easily recognized for performance, making it a place where strong contributors can stand out.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.

Job Description

Responsibilities
- Build engine inlet air filtration systems for rotorcraft according to engineering specifications and quality standards.
- Fabricate and assemble sheet metal sub-assemblies for rotorcraft platforms such as CH-53K and UH-60, as well as low-volume parts.
- Perform close-tolerance hole drilling, countersinking, fastener installation, rivet installation, trimming, and assembly operations.
- Install and remove universal and flush head rivets, hi-loks, cherry-max fasteners, hi-shear fasteners, and platenuts as required.
- Interpret and follow engineering drawings and related documentation to ensure proper build completion.
- Conduct in-process self-inspections using micrometers, rulers, and calipers to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Complete all job-related documentation and production paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
- Select appropriate hand tools and power tools for each task and use them safely and effectively.
- Operate tools such as pneumatic squeezes and battery-operated drills; progress to using rivet guns when appropriate experience is gained.
- Work with and around a variety of chemicals, following all safety standards and using required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain an acceptable level of attendance in accordance with company attendance policies.
- Follow all established procedures and policies with a focus on achieving high first-pass yields and consistent product quality.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Entry-level to 3 years of experience in mechanical or structural assembly, sheet metal work, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with rivet installation and basic fastener installation.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
- Drilling experience, including close-tolerance hole drilling and countersinking.
- Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to perform in-process self-inspections using micrometers, rulers, and calipers.
- Capability to work with and around chemicals while adhering to PPE and safety standards.
- Reliable attendance and willingness to work extended hours when needed.
- Heavy mechanical assembly experience is highly beneficial.
- Experience in structures, sheet metal assembly, or aerospace components is an advantage.
- Recent military experience is valued and can translate well to this role.
- Recent technical school graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Comfort working in a small-shop environment where individual performance is highly visible.
- Ability to learn and progress to using specialized tools such as rivet guns.
