1st Shift Assembler-Contract

Responsibilities

This is contract position for a minimum of four months, but could be extended.

Responsibilities:
● Ensuring that equipment is in safe operating condition at the beginning of each shift and that the safety checklist is completed and signed daily.
● Attending Tier I meetings with the group leader.
● Receiving daily production instructions from the group leader.
● Working according to visual aids, verbal and written instructions, and specifications provided
by the leader and/or trainer.
● Wearing the required personal protective equipment (PPE).
● Performing first-piece inspections/releases (where applicable).
● Efficiently performing one or more production line operations and being assigned to different workstations according to production requirements.
● Maintaining a clean work area by applying 5S principles.
● Performing work with quality standards and stopping operations whenever there is a safety risk or an increase in scrap levels.
● Immediately escalating issues to the group leader or supervisor.
● Performing workplace stretching exercises at scheduled times.
● Maintaining order and discipline in the work area.
● Disposing of scrap properly and handing over the shift when required.
● Complying with the company's Quality Management System requirements.
● Complying with the company's Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements.

The essential functions of this role include:

• working in a smoke free environment
• wearing steel toe shoes
• working up to 8 hrs of overtime per week
• working weekends

Skills

• Assembly (1 year of experience is preferred)
• Attention to detail
