We are seeking an experienced Lead Software Engineer to provide technical leadership for multiple Agile engineering squads delivering modern enterprise applications. This role is ideal for a hands-on technical leader with expertise in Java, Spring Boot, AWS, Microservices, and Full-Stack Development who enjoys mentoring engineers, driving architecture decisions, and delivering scalable cloud-native solutions.

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of software engineering experience , proven success leading teams of 10+ engineers , and strong technical expertise in AWS, Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, REST APIs, Angular or React, SQL, and CI/CD . Experience leveraging AI tools to improve software engineering productivity is required, while mortgage industry experience is a strong plus.

• Lead multiple Agile squads responsible for delivering enterprise full-stack applications, REST APIs, microservices, integration services, platform modernization, and production enhancements.
• Provide technical leadership by guiding architecture, solution design, implementation strategies, and engineering best practices.
• Partner with Product Owners, Architects, Business Stakeholders, QA, and DevOps teams to prioritize work and deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Design and develop scalable Java-based applications using Spring Boot, AWS, REST APIs, and Microservices architecture.
• Build modern front-end solutions using Angular or React.
• Develop proof of concepts (POCs), prototypes, and technical demonstrations to evaluate emerging technologies and modern engineering practices.
• Drive adoption of AI-assisted software engineering tools to improve development efficiency, code quality, and delivery.
• Establish engineering standards for scalable architecture, secure coding, automated testing, code reviews, CI/CD, and production readiness.
• Ensure applications meet enterprise standards for security, auditability, resiliency, accessibility, compliance, and operational excellence.
• Lead production support activities, including incident management, root cause analysis, observability, monitoring, and continuous reliability improvements.
• Mentor, coach, and develop engineering talent through performance management, technical guidance, hiring, delegation, and succession planning.
• Foster a collaborative engineering culture focused on ownership, innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.

• 10+ years of software engineering or technology delivery experience.
• 2+ years of engineering leadership or people management experience.
• Proven experience leading Agile teams consisting of 10 or more engineers .
• Strong technical leadership experience designing enterprise software solutions.

• Experience within the Mortgage or Financial Services industry.
• Experience modernizing enterprise applications and platforms.
• Knowledge of event-driven architecture and distributed systems.

• Experience evaluating emerging technologies and building proof of concepts.

• Provide practical technical leadership that enables engineering teams to build scalable, secure, and maintainable software.
• Develop and mentor high-performing engineering teams through coaching, feedback, and career development.
• Promote a culture of ownership, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Maintain a strong focus on production quality, application resiliency, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction.
• Communicate effectively with Product Owners, Architects, business stakeholders, and engineering teams to remove delivery blockers.
• Use engineering metrics, production insights, and continuous feedback to improve software quality and delivery predictability.
• Successfully manage priorities, dependencies, and delivery across multiple Agile squads.

• Mortgage domain experience.
• AWS Certifications (Solutions Architect or Developer Associate).
• Experience with AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, Amazon Q, or similar tools.
