Must Have Qualifications
- 10+ years of software engineering or technology delivery experience.
- 2+ years of people management and leadership experience guiding teams of 10+ members.
- Hands-on expertise with AWS, Java, and microservices architecture .
- Experience using AI in software engineering practices .
- Strong leadership skills: managing priorities, resolving conflicts, stakeholder communication.
- Mortgage industry experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Lead multiple agile squads delivering full-stack applications, APIs, microservices, integration services, and production enhancements.
- Provide technical direction, guide solution design, review implementations, and ensure scalable, secure, resilient decisions.
- Partner with Product Owners, architecture, and stakeholders to align priorities and manage dependencies.
- Drive design/implementation of Java-based microservices, REST APIs, front-end apps (Angular/React), SQL databases, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.
- Create proofs of concept, demos, prototypes for emerging technologies.
- Establish software engineering standards: scalable design, code quality, automated testing, peer reviews, deployment discipline, security, and readiness.
- Oversee production support: incident triage, root-cause analysis, observability, recovery, and reliability improvements.
- Manage and mentor engineering talent through coaching, hiring, delegation, and succession planning.
- Foster ownership, collaboration, continuous improvement, and accountability.
Qualifications
- Proven experience leading agile squads and delivering complex initiatives.
- Technical leadership in Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices, AWS/cloud-native apps, Angular/React, SQL, CI/CD, automated testing .
- Strong background in architecture, API design, integration, security, performance, resiliency.
- Experience in production support, incident management, and reliability improvements.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/related field (advanced degree preferred).
