Do you enjoy working with young children and making a positive impact in the classroom? Teachers Now is looking for dependable, caring, and enthusiastic Early Childhood Substitute Teachers to support Pre-K through 2nd grade classrooms throughout the Kansas City area.
Whether you're an experienced childcare professional, a recent graduate, or someone looking for meaningful, flexible work, this is a great opportunity to help young learners succeed while creating your own schedule.
No teaching certification is required. If you have a High School Diploma or GED, you may already qualify!

What You'll Do
- Follow lesson plans and classroom routines provided by the teacher
- Support students with learning activities, centers, and classroom projects
- Create a safe, caring, and engaging classroom environment
- Encourage positive behavior using age-appropriate classroom management techniques
- Assist with daily routines, transitions, lunch, recess, and other activities
- Support students' social, emotional, and academic growth
- Take attendance and communicate important information to school staff
- Ensure the safety and well-being of students throughout the school day
For long-term assignments, substitute teachers may also develop and deliver lessons aligned with the school's curriculum and learning goals.
Schedule
Monday–Friday
Full Day
7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Half-Day Options
7:00 AM – 12:00 PM
12:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Schedules may vary depending on school and program needs.
