Second Shift Quality Associate

PurposeTest and inspects products at various stages of production process and compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products by performing the following duties. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Selects products for tests at specified stages in production process, and tests products for a variety of qualities such as dimensions and performance.Records test data, applying statistical quality control procedures.Evaluates returns from customer complaints.Sets up and performs destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, parts, or products to measure performance, life, or material characteristics. Places non-conforming products on hold if necessary.Conducts final inspection audits.Enters data into computer for analysis.Files and maintains quality test records.Verifies set-up parts for machine adjustments.Assists in new product testing developmentTier 1 RequirementsBasic data entry/computer skillsAbility to read and comprehend quality toolsAbility to record measurements from gaugesBasic use of gaugesTier 2 RequirementsProficient inspections at either Corporate or EDCAble to generate required recordsBasic understanding of manufacturing operationsTier 3 RequirementsProficient inspections at both Corporate and EDCTroubleshooting of quality process with escalationProficient use of gaugesTier 4 RequirementsProficient computer skills with required softwareAbility to identify potential issues and take actionAble to validate required recordsInternal auditorProficient knowledge of manufacturing operationsOther duties as assigned.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees of the organization.Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
