Description We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Prep Cook to support daily food preparation in a high-volume, high-end steakhouse in Midtown Manhattan. The ideal candidate has strong knife skills, works efficiently, and maintains consistent quality, organization, and cleanliness. Complete daily prep lists accurately and on schedule. Prepare vegetables, herbs, garnishes, sauces, stocks, dressings, marinades, and other components according to standardized recipes. Safely use knives and commercial kitchen equipment. Weigh, portion, label, date, and store ingredients properly. Inspect ingredients for quality and freshness; follow FIFO procedures and help minimize waste. Communicate shortages, quality concerns, and prep needs to the culinary leadership team. Maintain clean, organized, and sanitized workstations, prep areas, walk-ins, reach-ins, and dry storage. Assist with receiving and organizing deliveries as needed. Support line cooks and other BOH team members during service. Complete assigned opening, closing, and cleaning duties.
