Cath Lab Radiologic Tech - Interventional Cardiology

Overview 40 hours per week (four 10‑hr shifts) plus after‑hours/weekend on‑call requirement. Exempt. Pay commensurate with experience. $10K signing bonus available. Job Description Summary Performs the operation, maintenance, and application of cardiac catheterization, interventional, and electrophysiology procedures. Essential Functions Assists with diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization and/or electrophysiology procedures in compliance with protocols, policies, and guidelines. Prepares patients for procedures, including allergy documentation; monitors patients' conditions during procedures, e.g. blood pressure and heart rate. Documents according to organizational standards, policies, and procedures. Educates patients and families on cardiac catheterization procedures and policies. Maintains and cleans cardiac equipment and upholds laboratory safety. Engages in the “workplace community” by staying aware of changes, participating in data collection or auditing, understanding Quality Improvement, and representing staff at relevant meetings and reporting important information and updates back to staff. Works in accordance with on‑call and scheduling requirements for the Catheterization and Electrophysiology Team. Education Requirement Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program required. Licensure Requirement Valid “R” category Ohio Radiological License; Registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists – active status. Certifications BLS required. PALS and ACLS certifications required within 4 months of employment and maintained throughout employment. Experience One year of experience in a catheterization lab and/or one year interventional radiology experience, preferred. Physical Requirements OCCASIONALLY: Climb stairs/ladder, Cold Temperatures, Communicable Diseases and/or Pathogens, Hot Temperatures, Lifting/Carrying 41‑60 lbs, Lifting/Carrying 61‑100 lbs, Power Tools, Pushing/Pulling 100 lbs or greater with assistance, Pushing/Pulling 41‑60 lbs, Pushing/Pulling 61‑100 lbs. FREQUENTLY: Bend/twist, Flexing/extending of neck, Fume/Gases/Vapors, Hand use: grasping, gripping, turning, Lifting/Carrying 11‑20 lbs, Lifting/Carrying 21‑40 lbs, Loud Noises, Pushing/Pulling 0‑25 lbs, Pushing/Pulling 26‑40 lbs, Reaching above shoulder, Squat/kneel. CONTINUOUSLY: Audible speech, Biohazard waste, Blood and/or Bodily Fluids, Chemicals/Medications, Color vision, Computer skills, Decision Making, Depth perception, Electricity, Hearing acuity, Interpreting Data, Lifting/Carrying 0‑10 lbs, Machinery, Patient Equipment, Peripheral vision, Problem solving, Repetitive hand/arm use, Seeing – Far/near, Sitting, Standing, Walking. Additional Physical Requirements Performed But Not Listed Above Required to wear lead aprons with varying weights up to 25 lbs. Must be able to handle high levels of stress in emergency situations. Must be able to respond quickly to problem‑solving situations while maintaining excellent interpersonal relations. Ability to visually and audibly perform all essential functions of the position.
