Position Summary & Responsibilities:
Position Summary:
This IT Programmer II position is located in Topeka, at the Eisenhower State Office Building, and is within the Office of Information Technology Services. This position provides information technology support for KDOT to support the Agency's ability to provide a statewide transportation system to meet the needs of Kansans. The IT Programmer II is responsible for various requirements, design, documentation, new development and maintenance of applications and interfaces and provides support for various applications and API's under the guidance of team leads and supervisor.
Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
- Develops major systems and complex applications for desktop and web applications based on an approved set of system requirements.
- Develops system designs based off data flow diagrams, business objective definitions, system interface data flows, and architectural data designs.
- Assists in troubleshooting and organizing issues to come to an immediate resolution. For long-term problems in system, application, or database performance, the incumbent will coordinate the steps needed for solutions.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Successful completion of 24 hours in computer science coursework or certification AND one year of relevant experience
- OR two years of experience designing/analyzing, coding, testing, debugging database programs or system software programming and analysis.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A four-year college degree in computer science is preferred.
- Experience with Net Core, Visual Studio, front-end development, Rest API's. C#.NET, Angular, HTML5, CSS3, Tailwind, JSON, JavaScript, TypeScript, T-SQL, PL/SQL, GIT
- Experience using formal application development methodology developing complex software applications.
- Experience using SQL Server, DB2 and Oracle databases.
