Salary/Pay Rate/Compensation: $30-46 per hour, depending on experience
Shift: 1st, Monday through Friday on site

What’s a typical day as Research Assistant? You’ll be:

• Maintaining primary cells and established cell lines, and isolating cells from tissues or organs using aseptic techniques.
• Performing cell and tissue culture procedures with a focus on accuracy, consistency, and quality.
• Preserving cells and tissues using cryopreservation and other storage techniques.
• Conducting experiments involving gene and protein expression analyses.
• Collaborating with team members to design, execute, and optimize experimental protocols.
• Documenting experimental procedures, observations, and results in accordance with laboratory practices.
• Staying current with developments in tissue engineering, cell biology, and related disciplines.
• Troubleshooting laboratory methods and implementing procedural improvements.
• Contributing to the development and evaluation of innovative tissue engineering solutions.
• Performing work in accordance with laboratory safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
• Supporting routine maintenance and proper operation of laboratory instruments and equipment.
• Lifting and handling materials or equipment up to 50 pounds, with reasonable accommodation.
• Learning and assisting with surgical techniques as required.

This job might be an outstanding fit if you:

• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering, molecular biology, cell biology, or a related field (required); Master’s or higher preferred.
• Have 2-7 years of hands-on laboratory experience in cell/tissue culture and cell isolation techniques.
• Possess knowledge of cell and tissue preservation methods, including cryopreservation.
• Are familiar with gene/protein expression analysis and molecular biology methods.
• Demonstrate strong laboratory skills, attention to detail, and commitment to data integrity and documentation.
• Work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Are eager to learn new techniques and expand your knowledge in tissue engineering.
• Can lift up to 50 pounds, with reasonable accommodation.
• Previous experience in a CRO, industry, or academic research lab is a plus.
• Hands-on experience with PCR, Western blotting, or ELISA and knowledge of tissue engineering applications are preferred.
• Familiarity with laboratory safety requirements, quality systems, and regulated environments is a plus.
• Prior exposure to surgical techniques or willingness to complete relevant training is beneficial.
