About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join their team. The CFO will be a senior executive leader responsible for the organization's financial strategy, long-term fiscal health, capital structure, and asset stewardship. This role involves providing strategic financial leadership to support the company's sustainability, growth, and mission impact. The CFO will oversee a complex financial landscape, including an annual operating budget, ownership and management of affordable rental housing, active development projects, and various HUD-funded programs. Essential duties include strategic financial guidance, capital and asset stewardship, governance, compliance, and risk oversight, as well as leadership and organizational development within the finance function. Candidates for the CFO position at the company should have a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, with a CPA preferred, and a minimum of 7 years' progressive financial leadership experience. Strong knowledge of GAAP, nonprofit accounting standards, and federal compliance requirements is essential, as is experience in real estate development, multi-entity accounting structures, and capital financing strategies. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working with boards and board committees, leading and developing financial and administrative staff, and evaluating and structuring complex financing transactions. The CFO will be expected to promote a culture of accountability, transparency, and financial discipline, and to collaborate with executive leadership to strengthen financial and operational alignment.
