Finance Director

The City of Bridgeton, Missouri is seeking candidates for the position of Finance Director. He/she shall hold a bachelor's degree in accounting, public/business administration, or a related field from an accredited university, and requires at least five years of experience in the field of municipal accounting, finance or a related field. Priority will be given to any candidate who has earned the designation of Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Public Finance Officer (CPFO). Responsibilities Perform accounting and payroll activities. Manage benefits. Prepare financial statements. Ensure budgetary compliance. Oversee internal controls. Execute the City's investment policy. Perform various other financial analysis projects including the preparation of materials for the annual budget and audit. Oversee the finance staff. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting, public/business administration, or a related field. At least five years of experience in municipal accounting, finance or a related field. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Public Finance Officer (CPFO) preferred. Salary and Benefits Salary range is up to $132,454 (with future consideration of substantial range increase as part of compensation study recommendation). Starting salary is DOQ.
