IT Administrator
Praxt Talent LLC
IT Systems Administrator Salt Lake City, UT
On-site
Some IT roles are about tickets. This one is about ownership. We are hiring a hands-on IT Systems Administrator to be the operational backbone of our technology environment, keeping the platforms that our corporate teams and a global network of independently operated business locations rely on every day secure, stable, and running smoothly. It is a builder's role. You will configure systems, resolve the issues that reach the top of the queue, automate the repetitive work no one should be doing by hand, and make everyday technology feel effortless for a wide range of users. You will work across two very different populations on shared infrastructure, corporate staff and independent field locations, each with its own priorities and risk tolerance, which keeps the problem-solving genuinely interesting. If you like a mix of well-defined process and figure-it-out ambiguity, and you would rather fix the root cause than paper over it, this is your kind of role. What You'll Own Microsoft 365 and identity
• Run the Microsoft 365 tenant day to day: user and group provisioning and deprovisioning, license assignment and reclamation, and mailbox, SharePoint, and Teams administration.
• Manage identity and access, including conditional access policies, MFA enforcement, single sign-on (SSO), and access reviews.
• Apply and maintain security controls to company standards.
• Support the rollout of new M365 capabilities and AI tools (such as Microsoft Copilot and Claude), including basic configuration and helping people actually adopt them.
• Keep clear documentation of tenant configuration, policies, and standard operating procedures. Devices and endpoint security
• Administer a fleet of Windows and macOS devices through Intune or equivalent endpoint tooling: imaging, patching, configuration profiles, and compliance policies.
• Maintain endpoint security posture: antivirus/EDR agents, disk encryption, patch compliance, and vulnerability remediation.
• Set and uphold hardware and software standards, including approved device catalogs and imaging baselines used across regions.
• Manage the full IT asset lifecycle: procurement coordination, deployment, inventory tracking, and secure retirement of hardware.
• Track software license usage and flag over- or under-licensing to control cost. Support and service management
• Serve as a senior escalation point, resolving the tickets that regional support specialists cannot close on their own.
• Improve service desk processes, knowledge base articles, and runbooks to lift first-contact resolution.
• Watch SLA performance and ticket queues across regions, and surface trends or systemic issues to the IT Operations Manager.
• Own onboarding and offboarding end to end (accounts, hardware, access, and licensing) for both corporate and field users. Automation and internal tooling
• Build scripts and automations (PowerShell, Graph API, Power Automate, or similar) to eliminate manual work such as provisioning, reporting, license reconciliation, and access reviews.
• Maintain and extend internal tools and dashboards that support IT operations and reporting.
• Find opportunities to apply AI-driven automation, such as assisted ticket triage, chatbots, and scripted diagnostics, to improve efficiency and the user experience. Cloud, eCommerce, and shipping integrations
• Support the eCommerce integrations that field locations and their customers depend on, escalating complex issues as needed.
• Provide day-to-day administration of AWS-hosted services: basic monitoring, access management (IAM), routine maintenance, and cost and usage tracking.
• Partner with engineering and cloud teams on deployments, troubleshooting, and infrastructure changes affecting supported services. Projects and collaboration
• Take assigned workstreams from planning through hand-off, such as a regional rollout, a new security control, or a tooling migration.
• Keep documentation and status updates current for the IT Operations Manager.
• Communicate clearly with both technical staff and non-technical stakeholders when supporting or explaining changes.
• Assist with vendor coordination and basic license and cost tracking. What You'll Bring
• 5+ years in IT systems administration or a comparable hands-on IT operations role.
• Strong Microsoft 365 administration: Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and Entra ID / Azure AD identity and access management.
• Endpoint management experience with Intune or equivalent across Windows and macOS.
• IT asset management: hardware and software lifecycle tracking, license compliance, and procurement coordination.
• Working knowledge of AWS fundamentals (IAM, EC2, S3, basic monitoring and cost tracking).
• Scripting and automation experience (PowerShell, Graph API, Power Automate, Bash, or similar).
• Comfort operating in a service desk / ITSM environment with ticketing systems, SLAs, and escalation processes.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and a methodical, root-cause approach.
• Clear, professional communication with both technical and non-technical users across regions and time zones. Nice to Have
• Experience supporting eCommerce, shipping and logistics, or API-integrated platforms.
• Familiarity with AI-driven IT tools (Copilot, AI-assisted ticketing or chat, workflow automation).
• Experience mentoring junior support staff or writing training and knowledge base content. The Environment You will sit on a small, central global IT team supporting a business where corporate and field populations share infrastructure but differ sharply in how they are governed and the risk they will accept. The work moves between hands-on daily support and longer-running improvement projects, often at the same time as a live queue. You will collaborate across regions and time zones, and you will be comfortable with both defined processes and the ambiguous, lean-team problems that come with the territory. If that sounds like the kind of work you want to sink your teeth into, we would like to hear from you. Apply with your resume!
