Title: Mechanical / Packaging Engineer
Location: Covington, TN Onsite
Job Summary
- Support the design, evaluation, and optimization of automated packaging systems.
- Evaluate packaging equipment from filling through secondary and end-of-line operations.
- Develop packaging line layouts and equipment arrangements using AutoCAD .
- Coordinate 3D models within the overall plant design environment.
- Support packaging process improvements, equipment integration, and product changeovers.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and select packaging equipment including fillers, conveyors, cartoners, case packers, wrappers, and palletizers .
- Support End-of-Line (EOL) systems, including palletizing operations.
- Develop and modify packaging line layouts, equipment placement, and plant integration plans.
- Develop technical specifications for equipment modifications, installations, and packaging/product changeovers.
- Coordinate with equipment vendors and support equipment installation, integration, and process improvements.
Required Qualifications
- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 5 10+ years of relevant Mechanical or Packaging Engineering experience.
- Hands-on experience with packaging machinery and automated packaging systems .
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and packaging line layout development.
- Experience with equipment integration, 3D model coordination, and manufacturing support.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Food & Beverage, CPG, Food Processing, or Packaging industries.
- Experience in Ice Cream or Dairy manufacturing .
- Knowledge of hygienic/clean-process manufacturing environments.
- Experience with packaging process optimization and continuous improvement.
- Experience coordinating with equipment suppliers and vendors.
