Job Title: Packaging Engineer
Location: Covington, TN
Job Summary:
The Packaging Engineer will support packaging machinery, equipment integration, line layouts, and packaging process improvements within a manufacturing environment. The role will focus on evaluating packaging equipment, supporting end-of-line systems, coordinating with equipment vendors, and developing technical specifications for equipment modifications and product changeovers.
Key Responsibilities:
Evaluate the suitability and performance of packaging equipment, from fillers through secondary packaging
Support End-of-Line (EOL) systems, including palletizing operations
Coordinate with equipment vendors and internal engineering teams
Develop technical specifications for equipment modifications and packaging/product changeovers
Provide engineering support for packaging process improvements and optimization
Develop and modify packaging line layouts using AutoCAD
Coordinate 3D models within the overall plant design environment
Review equipment placement, layout impacts, utility requirements, and integration of new packaging equipment
Requirements:
B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
5 10+ years of Mechanical/Packaging Engineering experience
Experience with packaging machinery such as fillers, conveyors, cartoners, case packers, wrappers, and palletizers
Strong AutoCAD experience with packaging line layouts
Experience with packaging equipment installation, integration, and changeovers
Experience coordinating with equipment vendors
Food & Beverage, Ice Cream/Dairy, CPG, or Food Processing experience is highly preferred
Must be willing to work onsite in Covington, TN
