To join our team, you’ll need: Education: High School Diploma or GED. License: A valid TX driver’s license with a safe driving record. Age: Must be at least 18 years old on or before your date of hire. U.S. Citizenship: Required for eligibility. Preferred Certification: TCLEOSE Jailer Certification (not on probationary status). Physical Fitness: Ability to meet physical demands, including safely lifting up to 20 lbs and responding to emergency situations. Screenings: Must pass a background check, drug screening, psychological assessment, and physical exam. Other Qualities: Exceptional ability to remain professional in hostile environments. Strong interpersonal skills to work with staff, inmates, and the public. Ability to make sound decisions under pressure. Your Role in Our Team: Supervise inmates to maintain safety and security. Conduct regular checks for rule infractions and unauthorized activities. Process inmates through intake, ensuring proper documentation. Perform searches for weapons and contraband. Observe inmate behavior and respond to emergency situations with appropriate action. Supervise inmate activities, including meal distribution and work crews.
