Senior Scientist - Drug Product Development

Overview Senior Scientist – Drug Product Development. Location: Novato, CA (Hybrid – 2–3 days onsite). Salary: $150,000–$175,000 annually + Comprehensive Benefits. Employment Type: Full-Time. Responsibilities Lead drug product development for small molecules, peptides, and oligonucleotides. Develop formulation strategies, optimize drug products, and support technology transfer and manufacturing. Lead cross-functional CMC teams, collaborating with Analytical Development, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, Packaging, Engineering, and external CDMOs. Drive project timelines, manage technical risks, and ensure successful program execution. Provide scientific oversight for formulation development, manufacturing support, process optimization, and technology transfer activities. Support regulatory submissions by contributing to CMC documentation and technical reports. Mentor junior scientists and provide technical leadership across multidisciplinary teams. Qualifications Master's or Ph.D. in Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline. 7–10+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry experience in drug product development. Strong expertise in formulation development and CMC activities. Hands-on experience with solid oral dosage forms , including tablets, capsules, and oral solutions. Experience leading cross-functional teams and collaborating with CDMOs/CMOs. Experience supporting technology transfer, manufacturing, and regulatory submissions. Working knowledge of GMP regulations and pharmaceutical development. Preferred Qualifications Experience with parenteral formulations and fill/finish operations. Experience with small molecules, peptides, oligonucleotides, or biologics. Familiarity with analytical techniques including HPLC, DSC, UV spectroscopy, DLS, particle size analysis, and stability testing.
