Manufacturing Engineer Direct Hire

Salary: $85,000-$100,000

Hours: 8am - 5pm

Location:  Statesville

Work Authorization: Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer-sponsored visa support.

POSITION OVERVIEW

ProStaffing is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to improve manufacturing processes, production efficiency, quality, and cost effectiveness. This engineer will partner with Engineering, Production, and Quality to strengthen current operations and support successful new product launches.

WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

1. Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods for assembly, fabrication, and equipment integration.
2. Partner with product design engineers to improve Design for Manufacturability (DFM).
3. Create and maintain work instructions, assembly documentation, and standard operating procedures.
4. Lead or support LEAN, 5S, Kaizen, and other process-improvement initiatives.
5. Investigate manufacturing issues involving quality, efficiency, tooling, waste, and downtime; perform root cause analysis.
6. Recommend and implement process changes that improve safety, lower cost, and increase throughput.
7. Design production tools, fixtures, and jigs.
8. Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities and production launches.
9. Provide technical support and training to production and assembly employees.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
2. 2-5 years of manufacturing or production engineering experience; equipment or machinery manufacturing experience is preferred.
3. Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, fabrication methods, and assembly techniques.
4. Proficiency with SolidWorks or comparable CAD software.
5. Working knowledge of ERP systems, manufacturing documentation, and LEAN manufacturing principles.
6. Preferred: metal fabrication or equipment assembly experience; understanding of PLCs, pneumatics, and electrical systems; experience supporting a product line throughout its lifecycle.
7. Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills with a hands-on, team-oriented approach.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

1. Ability to regularly use hands to handle tools, objects, and controls and frequently stand, sit, reach, communicate, and hear.
2. May occasionally walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
3. Ability to regularly lift/move up to 10 lbs., frequently up to 25 lbs., and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
4. Close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus are required.
