Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Obtain complete and accurate vital signs and assist patients to exam rooms. (patient Intake)
• Document patient vital signs, interactions, and all pertinent information in the EMR/EHR in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
• Perform procedures as ordered by the Provider within scope of practice.
• Assist with patient triage, documenting presenting complaints, assessing acuity, and reporting promptly to the Provider.
• Monitor and maintain timely patient flow and room availability.
• Reinforce and participate in patient education efforts, including discharge instructions, confirming understanding with patients and families.
• Maintain adequate inventory of supplies in exam rooms, nurse stations, and workstations. Submit supply requests as needed.
• Clean and sterilize instruments, exam rooms, and workstations per departmental policies.
• Ensure departmental equipment is charged, sanitized after each use, and ready for patient care.
• Perform quality control testing on equipment and notify management of items needing maintenance or repair.
• Collect and process specimens including urine, blood, wound, throat, and respiratory swabs for laboratory processing.
• Assist Providers with urgent care procedures such as splinting, suturing, incision and drainage, nebulizer treatments, EKGs, and wound care.
• Administer medications, perform IV therapy, initiate/discontinue IV lines, and conduct blood withdrawals within scope of practice and departmental policies.
• Ensure appropriate handling, administration, and documentation of all medications ordered by the Provider, including narcotic medications as assigned.
• Ensure crash cart, emergency drugs, and equipment are fully stocked, operational, and readily available.
• Respond to emergency codes (Code White, Code Blue, Code Red) timely and within scope of practice. Participate in emergency preparedness and disaster drills.
• Maintain patient safety, confidentiality, and exercise universal precautions in all care.
• Perform laboratory quality control and proficiency testing, and assist with on-site testing when lab personnel are unavailable, including CLIA-waived testing.
• Ensure test results (including EKG and labs) are reviewed and initialed by the physician promptly.
• Remain knowledgeable of referral procedures and ensure accurate, timely follow-through for all referrals generated.
• Facilitate patient transfers to higher levels of care, ensuring accurate documentation and communication with EMS/hospitals.
• Provide coverage for other clinics within the department as needed.
• Accurately assess and complete fee tickets as required.
• Perform arterial blood withdrawal within scope of practice.
• Supervise and monitor patient care provided by Medical Assistants (MAs/CMA), providing mentorship and feedback.
• Assist with department orientation and training of new staff.
• Actively participate in departmental quality assurance (QA) and nursing/lab QA activities, identifying problems, proposing solutions, and evaluating outcomes.
• Complete nurse visit notes before the end of each shift.
• Utilize HVVMG computers and systems, including NextGen, Health iPass, and Artera, appropriately to perform job duties.
• Serve as an ambassador for Heritage Victor Valley Medical Group, positively shaping the patient and customer experience.
• Introduce yourself and your role clearly to patients and co-workers.

• Stay current with urgent care-specific LVN competencies, including BLS/ACLS recertifications and ongoing training.
• Contribute to urgent care performance metrics (e.g., door-to-provider time, patient satisfaction, throughput) through efficient workflow and documentation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $35.00 and $36.00/hour; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Qualifications:

• Education: Graduate of an accredited LVN nursing program.
• Licensure: Current California Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license.
• Certifications: Current BLS, ACLS and PALS are required within 6 months of hire
• Experience: 1 year of LVN experience in a hospital or acute setting, preferred.
• Knowledge: Knowledge of California State law defining the Nurse Practice Act.
• Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with individuals within all levels of the organization, patients, patient family members, providers, vendors and others.
• Skills: Ability to work independently. Ability to utilize critical thinking and judgment to solve problems.
• Skills: Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks to meet established deadlines.
