Maintenance Technician, Multifamily

Job Title: Maintenance Technician, Multifamily Aven Overview The Maintenance Technician provides essential support to residents, ensuring quality move‑ins, residential satisfaction, and timely service while maintaining high standards of professionalism and safety. Responsibilities Prepare apartments for new residents, including painting, carpet repair, cleaning, general repairs, and housekeeping to deliver a quality move‑in experience. Respond to resident service requests promptly and with a professional attitude. Perform maintenance tasks involving plumbing, HVAC, basic electrical work, general carpentry, painting, and snow removal when required. Maintain grounds, pools/hot tubs, common areas, and dog park amenities, ensuring they are clean, operational, and safe. Participate in on‑call scheduling to address after‑hour emergencies when necessary. Report maintenance concerns in vacant units, models, and common areas to the Maintenance Supervisor. Execute maintenance activities assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor. Attend and complete training programs as required by Cushman & Wakefield. Follow all safety procedures and protect company tools and equipment. Maintain reliable, punctual on‑site attendance and report any tardiness or attendance issues. Perform any other related duties as assigned. Competencies Valid driver’s license; EPA 608 – Minimum Type II and CPO or local city required certificate. Ability to read and understand documentation such as policy manuals, safety rules, and maintenance instructions. Proficiency in basic mathematics: rates, ratios, percentages, and interpretation of bar graphs. Capability to resolve routine problems involving known variables. Follow written, oral, or diagrammed instructions accurately. Basic arithmetic skills: add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Strict adherence to safety procedures. Qualifications High School Diploma, GED, Trade, Technical, or Vocational school. Minimum of 1 year of related experience. Work Environment This role operates in a professional office setting, utilizing standard office equipment (computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, fax machine). The technician frequently travels between properties in varying weather conditions. Physical Demands The position requires extended standing or walking, climbing staircases and ladders, and handling tasks that involve lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or moving objects up to 100 pounds occasionally or frequently. Travel may be required up to 10% of the time. Compensation and Benefits Hourly rate: $20.83 – $24.50.
