The company is scaling with intention and looking for a senior operator to own the operational backbone of the business as it moves into its next chapter.The RoleThe Senior Director of Operations is a critical leadership hire reporting directly to the CEO. This person owns inventory planning end to end and ensures the company's logistics and 3PL infrastructure runs cleanly and scales with the business.Critically, this person doesn't just manage the day to day. They build the systems and templates that make the whole company smarter, and they communicate findings in clear, executive ready written summaries that drive decisions. They're organized to a fault, tech forward by nature, and comfortable owning both the operational model and the narrative around it.What You'll OwnInventory ManagementOwn inventory health across all channels, including e-commerce, retail, and wholesale if applicableEnsure buy quantities align with forecasted demand and marketed products; proactively flag risk and opportunityLead markdown and clearance strategy in partnership with merchandisingBuild inventory reporting templates that give the team real time visibility into sell through, weeks of supply, and reorder triggersLogistics & 3PL RelationshipsOwn the 3PL relationship end to end, including SLA compliance, billing accuracy, fulfillment performance, and issue resolutionManage inbound and outbound logistics, freight, and carrier relationshipsBuild operational scorecards and reporting cadences to track fulfillment cost per order, on time rates, and carrier performanceDrive continuous improvement across the fulfillment operation with documented processes and clear accountabilityOperational Planning & ReportingDesign templates and reporting frameworks that bring consistency and clarity across inventory and operationsDevelop a rolling operational forecast that integrates the marketing calendar, buying decisions, and channel performance in real timePartner with performance marketing and merchandising to ensure unit buys are tightly coordinated with demand, including affiliate volumes and gifted product that impact sell throughTranslate reporting into concise written summaries and recommendations that non operations stakeholders can act onSupply Chain / Production (Situational)Depending on org structure, may also oversee production coordination and vendor management, excluding design and creative directionManage supplier lead times, purchase order workflows, and delivery timelines in partnership with the merchandising teamWho You Are8 to 12 years of experience in operations, supply chain, or logistics, ideally within DTC, e-commerce, or consumer productsA builder. You don't inherit systems, you create them. Your reporting templates and operational frameworks become the standard for the teams around youA communicator. You write clearly and concisely. Your weekly ops recaps don't require a translator; they give leadership exactly what they need to make a callTech forward. You actively seek out tools, automation, and AI assisted workflows that reduce manual work and increase accuracy. You're not waiting for someone to hand you a better system, you build itDeeply organized. You run tight, repeatable processes, maintain clean documentation, and create structure that others can follow without you in the roomCross functional by nature.
