Compensation Range
The base pay scale for this position is $46.58 - $46.58. In addition, this position will be eligible for additional benefits consistent with the role. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to: scope of role, level of experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, budget, and subject to Fair Market Value evaluation. The hiring range listed is a good faith determination of potential compensation at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.

Electrician II - Master License Required

Monday - Friday

7am - 3:15pm

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrician II to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in a commercial and healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of electrical distribution systems, applicable electrical codes, and preventive maintenance practices while ensuring the safe and reliable operation of critical facility infrastructure.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, test, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, equipment, and components.
  
• Install and maintain power distribution systems, including panels, feeders, transformers, switchgear, service equipment, motors, switches, and electrical circuits.
  
• Install, test, and repair lighting systems, lighting controls, electrical fixtures, receptacles, and branch circuits.
  
• Install and maintain high- and low-voltage electrical equipment in accordance with applicable codes and safety standards.
  
• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot emergency power systems, including generators, automatic transfer switches (ATS), and uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems.
  
• Install and service fire alarm systems, communication systems, utility equipment, heating equipment controls, and medical electrical equipment as required.
  
• Read and interpret electrical blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical specifications to determine installation requirements.
  
• Plan electrical installations, recommend materials, and identify efficient installation methods for new construction and renovation projects.
  
• Estimate labor and material requirements for minor electrical projects and coordinate the timely procurement of supplies.
  
• Diagnose electrical faults and implement effective corrective actions to minimize equipment downtime.
  
• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance in accordance with established maintenance schedules and computerized work order systems.
  
• Recommend temporary or emergency solutions to maintain operation of critical electrical systems when necessary.
  
• Inspect incoming electrical equipment for compliance with applicable codes and project specifications; document inspection results.
  
• Recommend appropriate electrical power sources and distribution methods for new installations and renovation projects.
  
• Ensure all work complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC), NYC Electrical Code, OSHA regulations, and facility safety policies.
  
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and documentation.
  

Qualifications
Education

• High school diploma or GED required.
  
• Technical school certification, vocational training, or completion of a recognized electrical apprenticeship preferred.
  

Experience

• Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible electrical experience.
  
• Experience working in commercial, institutional, or healthcare facilities preferred.
  
• Experience supporting construction, renovation, or infrastructure projects.
  
• Experience maintaining mission-critical electrical systems is highly desirable.
  

Licensing

• Valid New York City DOB Master Electrician License required.
  

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Thorough knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and NYC Electrical Code.
  
• Strong understanding of electrical distribution systems and power infrastructure.
  
• Experience with emergency power systems, including generators, ATS, and UPS equipment.
  
• Working knowledge of low-voltage electrical and control systems preferred.
  
• Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  
• Ability to prioritize multiple assignments while maintaining a high level of safety and workmanship.
  
• Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
  
• Commitment to safe work practices and compliance with all applicable regulations.
