Board Certified Behavior Analyst

Job Summary The Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) provides clinical and behavioral oversight for individuals supported in a Residential/Group Home and community-based environments. The BCBA is responsible for conducting functional behavioral assessments, developing and maintaining Behavior Support Plans (BSPs), and providing staff training and consultation to ensure effective implementation of behavioral interventions. This role includes monitoring behavioral outcomes, evaluating progress, and ensuring that all behavioral services comply with Title 17, Title 22, Title 42, HCBS standards, and each individual’s Individual Program Plan (IPP) and Individual Service Plan (ISP) goals. The BCBA will support both adults and children/or adolescents in HGH’s Residential or community-based programs, promoting independence, safety, skill development, and enhancing quality of life for the individuals served. Tasks, Duties, And Responsibilities Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA) for participants referred for behavioral support needs. Observe participants across program activities (site-based areas, community outings, sensory rooms, vocational activities) to identify behavioral functions and support needs. Develop, write, and update Behavior Support Plans (BSPs) with a focus on positive practices, skill acquisition, and least-restrictive interventions. Ensure BSPs are aligned with Title 17, 42 & 22 requirements, IPP objectives, and Group Home regulations (no restraints, no restrictive interventions without proper authorization). Provide training and coaching to DSPs, Residential Facilitators, Administrators, Case Managers, House Managers, families, and stakeholders on the implementation of behavioral strategies. Review and analyze behavioral data, attendance, engagement trends, and progress toward IPP goals; modify plans as needed. Participate in interdisciplinary meetings (IPP, ISP, IDT) and collaborate with regional center staff, clinicians, and families. Monitor program-wide behavior trends and support development of proactive, preventative strategies. Ensure compliance with HCBS standards promoting autonomy, communication, choice-making, and community integration. Provide consultation during behavioral crises; help staff utilize de-escalation and trauma-informed practices. Complete required reports, progress summaries, BSP updates, data summaries, and documentation in accordance with Title 17, 42 & 22 documentation standards. Assist the team in understanding behavior support boundaries within residential regulations. Assist in training on mandated topics such as personal rights, abuse prevention, and trauma-informed care. All other duties as assigned. Qualifications Knowledge, Skills, and Education Master’s Degree and BCBA Certified Professional in good standing in State of California required. 2 years’ experience providing behavior supports for adults or children/adolescents with IDD and with mental health diagnosis. Demonstrated ability to support individuals with behavior challenges required. Competency in writing skills and effective verbal communication skills required. In-depth knowledge of Community Care Licensing and quality standards for residential care. Valid CA driver’s license and acceptable driving record. Must have 2 years of licensed driving experience. Must complete a pre-employment physical and negative Tuberculosis screen, then update annually. Physical Requirements/Work Environment This job operates in a residential home environment. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee may frequently move to interact with fellow employees and/or clients. Additionally, the individual may be required to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Specific abilities required by this job include utilizing wheelchairs, gait belts, Hoyer lifts, and using the buddy system to lift over 50 pounds.
