Human Resources Generalist

Summary/Objective Administers and supports core human resource functions, including leave management, attendance tracking, employee relations, and regulatory compliance, while maintaining accurate records and ensuring consistent application of policies within a unionized and safety-sensitive environment. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Administers sick pay and attendance tracking for union employees in accordance with collective bargaining agreements and organizational policies. Receives, validates, and scans submitted attendance documentation Serves as employee contact for sick pay discrepancies and attendance inquiries. Conducts employee relations investigations, provides recommendations to leadership, and supports the organization in disciplinary meetings by preparing/reviewing documentation related to disciplinary actions, grievances and compliance matters. Maintains confidentiality and ensures equitable and consistent application of policies. Establish and maintain confidential employee files. Maintain necessary turnover statistics. Communicate, administer and maintain records for FMLA, Medical Leave, ADA, and Short-Term Disability programs. Provide interpretations to management personnel in compliance with corporate discipline policies and procedures. Crosstrain and be responsive to all Human Resources inquiries from Team Members and Agencies. Interface with various agencies such as Worker’s Compensation, Unemployment Insurance, EEOC, etc. Ensures compliance with all federal state, and local government regulations as they relate to the Human Resource functions. Create and maintain an atmosphere in the company, which will foster an “open door” policy to improve employee communications and satisfaction. Generate reports and conduct audits to ensure data integrity and compliance. Executes other duties as directed by the Human Resource Director/Manager.
