Oncology - Medical Oncology Physician

Locums - Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, Medical Oncology Opening (IMLC Accepted)

Clinical Role

• Coverage needed November 1, 2026-July 31, 2027
• MD/DO position
• Preferred commitment: 13 weeks
• Hospital-based outpatient Medical Oncology clinic and infusion center
• Approximately 85% Oncology and 15% Hematology
• New patient consultations and follow-up care
• Inpatient rounding independently and with the APP team
• Approximately 8 patients per day on the primary caseload
• Approximately 2 inpatient rounding patients per day

Schedule & Call

• Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-4:30 pm
• Weekday day-shift coverage
• Second call every third weekend

Practice Setting & Case Mix

• 13-chair onsite infusion center
• Malignancies include breast, lung, colorectal, prostate, pancreatic, gynecologic, head and neck, melanoma, and other skin cancers
• Treatment oversight includes IV and oral chemotherapy, immunotherapy, hormonal therapy, and clinical trials
• Chemotherapy supervision and orders
• Management of oncologic emergencies
• Participation in tumor boards and multidisciplinary case reviews

Support & Systems

• Support from 3 physicians and 2 APPs
• Oncology pharmacist, nurse navigator, and oncology RN
• Onsite Radiation Therapy and infusion services
• Palliative care support
• Physician may supervise APPs
• Epic and Aria
• Online EMR modules or required pre-employment training must be completed before the first day

Requirements & Credentialing

• Board Certified in Medical Oncology required
• Active Wisconsin license required; IMLC accepted
• Client is not willing to license
• BLS required
• ONS chemotherapy certification required
• Bone marrow biopsy certification required
• 1-3 years of experience required
