Facility Information 1 Medical Center Blvd, Winston‑Salem, NC 27157 885 licensed beds Level 1 Trauma Designation Teaching Hospital: Yes, Academic Medical Center Chest Pain Center Stroke Center Satellite: Davie IP/OP Care Hospital and Country Club clinic Department Information Census: Average patients/day – TTE 110/day, Stress 14/day, TEE 5‑6/day Minimum years of experience required: 2 years Echo tech: minimum 2 years RN: 2 years with cardiac experience EP: 2 years First‑time traveler accepted: Yes Patient Types / Common Diagnoses Heart Failure and Cardiac Diagnostics (advanced – TTE, TEE, Stress Echo, Dobutamine Stress Echo studies) Chemotherapy Evaluations Renal Transplant Evaluations Required License / Certifications Cardiac Sonographer (Echo Tech): BLS; RDCS (ARDMS) OR RCS or Client (Advanced Cardiac Sonographer through CCI) Skills Required Echo tech: 2D, Doppler, color flow, 3D, strain, contrast studies. Preferred: Stress echo skills and interventional procedures. IV management training preferred. Department Support Dedicated Cardiac Ultrasound Educator and Chief Sonographer. 19 Echo’s (including satellites) 5 RNs 2 Eps Technology / Equipment EMR: EPIC – Encompass Department specific equipment: Philips: echo; Client: echo; Client CASE: stress lab; Philips ISCV: reporting for echo Orientation & Scheduling Orientation: NEO, 2 days departmental RTO: Manager approval Shift times: 5–8 hr shifts, optional 4–10s Schedule cycle: Contract 13 weeks; weekly staffing schedule pre‑posted during mid‑week, 2 weeks ahead, 1 week schedule Weekend rotation: Echo tech/RN/EP Tech – rotational weekends depending on unit needs Holiday expectations: dependent on unit needs Floating requirements: yes, satellite sites managed within Wake Region Other Notes Scrub color: Tops – Barney Purple (not eggplant). Pants/skirts – black. Warm‑up jackets – same purple or black. Parking: Free, assigned.
