Network Technician

Job Overview We are seeking a self‑sufficient Field Network Technician to support infrastructure refresh and network maintenance projects across southern Connecticut. This hands‑on, field‑based role requires the ability to work independently at client sites — including bank corporate and branch locations and possibly data centers. The technician serves as the on‑site eyes and hands, executing tasks related to network installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance. Responsibilities • Perform rack mounting, basic configuration, and console access via Putty or similar for network switches. • Terminate and test fiber and structured cabling (Cat6, T568A/B, up to 300 ft). • Install, reset, and reconfigure IP phones. • Dress cables professionally with labeling, routing, and tie‑wrapping. • Work effectively with remote engineers and dispatchers to resolve issues. • Operate a 6‑foot ladder and maintain reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license. Required Skills & Qualifications Self‑sufficient in the field with minimal supervision. Working knowledge of network switches and basic configuration. Understanding of structured cabling fundamentals and testing. Experience terminating cable at patch panels and jacks. Familiarity with IP phones and reconfiguration procedures. Professional cable dressing skills (labeling, routing, tie‑wrapping). Reliable transportation; valid driver’s license. Strong communication skills. Experience Level Intermediate Level Employment Type & Location Contract to Hire, based in West Haven, CT (fully onsite). Pay $25.00 – $27.00 per hour.
