In this hands-on position, you'll not only be moving and organizing goods but also verifying shipments and maintaining a clean work environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize equipment such as pallet jacks and, potentially, forklifts to move cargo efficiently.
- Sort, stack, and organize goods, including rebuilding or breaking down pallets.
- Check for damage, verify shipment accuracy, and ensure proper labeling of all items.
- Keep a clean, organized, and safe workspace by adhering to all safety guidelines and procedures.
- Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to prioritize tasks and ensure efficient workflow.
- Perform manual unloading and loading of cargo, including packages, materials, and pallets from trucks and containers.
Required Skills:
- Strong physical stamina and ability to lift heavy items
- Basic understanding of warehouse operations and safety standards
- Excellent attention to detail for verifying shipment accuracy
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience operating forklifts or other warehouse equipment
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or similar environment
- Familiarity with inventory management systems
Preferred Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior experience as a Lumper or in a similar role is a plus
Other Requirements:
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed
- Willingness to undergo any required safety training and certifications
