Role Description The Medical Malpractice Defense Litigation Associate will defend healthcare providers and institutions in medical malpractice and related professional liability matters. Day-to-day responsibilities include drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery responses; conducting legal research; and analyzing medical records and expert reports. The role involves taking and defending depositions, preparing witnesses, and appearing in court for hearings, conferences, and trials. The associate will collaborate with partners and other team members to develop case strategy, communicate with clients, and manage case files and deadlines. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Omaha, NE. Qualifications Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and active license (or eligibility for admission) to practice law in Nebraska and Iowa. Strong foundation in litigation, with specific interest in medical malpractice defense. Proficiency in legal research and motion drafting, including dispositive and procedural motions. Experience taking and defending depositions. Excellent analytical, writing, and oral advocacy skills. Skilled in reviewing and understanding medical records.
