Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist in Charge experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This contract opportunity is for a Pharmacist in Charge working days, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, lasting 13 weeks. The role is based in an inpatient hospital setting and requires expertise with Meditech Expanse order entry system (preferred). The hospital services a diverse patient population with specialties including OB (excluding NICU and high-risk pregnancies), orthopedics, pediatrics (excluding PICU), oncology, cardiology, pulmonology, neurology, adult behavioral health, endocrinology, podiatry, general surgery, rheumatology, and wound care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Fulfill Director of Pharmacy duties including creating schedules for pharmacists and technicians.
• Collaborate with the purchasing team to resolve medication supply chain issues.
• Lead the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee — setting agendas, running meetings, and implementing initiatives.
• Participate in monthly medical staff committees and COPD readmission reduction meetings.
• Oversee monthly department meetings and conduct weekday departmental huddles.
• Manage ordering of controlled substances twice weekly.
• Administer payroll and manage user access for Pyxis systems.
• Provide resource support to pharmacy staff during business hours (no on-call required).
• Complete a 2-week onsite training before covering maternity leave.

Desired Qualifications:

• Licensed pharmacist in Missouri.
• Proven experience as Pharmacist in Charge or Director of Pharmacy in an inpatient hospital.
• Skilled in sterile compounding procedures.
• Familiarity with Meditech Expanse order entry system preferred.
• Strong leadership and communication skills in a clinical environment.

Environment and Team:

• Work alongside a team of approximately 4.5 pharmacist full-time equivalents and 6 technician full-time equivalents.
• Join during an important Joint Commission survey period, contributing to quality and compliance goals.
