We're looking for a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer who thrives on hard problems, gets energy from building things with their hands, and wants to see their work on shelves, in homes, and in stores within a year or two of dreaming it up.What you'll doYou'll own the design and development of consumer products from first sketch through launch and beyond, working shoulder-to-shoulder with engineering and product teams to figure out how systems perform and where the real tradeoffs are. You'll pull in people from other disciplines to brainstorm, build rough prototypes, and stress-test them until you know exactly what works. You'll mentor and guide a team of engineers, co-ops, and interns, helping them grow while you push the team's collective bar higher. And you'll get the payoff most engineers never do: watching something you built go from a CAD file to an infomercial to someone's kitchen counter.What you bringBS or MS in Mechanical Engineering5+ years of experience designing and developing physical productsExperience coordinating engineering activities across teams including reviewing design documents, product validation results and moreDemonstrated ability to bring enabling technologies into products that actually shipProficient in SolidWorks or CreoComfortable in a lab setting, running controlled experiments on your own prototypesSkilled with hands-on prototyping: 3D printing, machining, hand tools, building robust assembliesStrong with Excel, Minitab, or MATLAB (or similar) to turn test data into real insightClear communicator, able to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical colleaguesOrganized, methodical, and relentless about catching problems before they become expensiveEnjoys building genuine working relationships with colleaguesNice to havesExperience building and executing test plans that directly shaped design decisionsComfortable juggling shifting priorities without losing the thread on long-term goalsBackground at a consumer products company or consulting firmFamiliarity with electronics (analog/digital) and components common in small appliances — sensors, motors, heaters, PCBAs — plus related test equipmentSalary and Other Compensation: The annual salary range for this position is displayed below.
