APP (APRN) - Cardiology

Overview Job Posting Title: Cardiology APP (APRN / Physician Assistant) Location: 4 Corporate Drive, Ste 100, Shelton, CT 06484 Work Schedule: Monday-Friday (Days) Scheduled Hours: 40 Position Type: FTE EMR System: EPIC Responsibilities Provide assessment, triage, and therapeutic management of patient/family needs throughout the disease process as part of an interdisciplinary team. Collaborate with supervising/collaborating physicians in accordance with state law, hospital regulations, policies, protocols, and clinical pathways; may provide autonomous team-based care. Obtain medical histories, perform physical examinations, review diagnostic/therapeutic tests and radiologic results, and formulate/manage treatment plans. Perform procedures and prescribe treatments/medications in accordance with institutional and state guidelines; may practice autonomously within scope of specialty or professional competency. May function as first or second assistant on operative cases when within scope and prerequisites are met. Respond to emergency situations within hospital parameters as needed. Education Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program. Experience Clinical working experience as an NP/PA in the specialty/service line is preferred but not required. APRNs, PAs, CRNAs, and CNMs must be appointed to the affiliated medical staff and go through credentialing; evidence of current competence and letters of reference may be required. Licensure Active PA Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA); Connecticut State PA License; ACLS/BLS as required; DEA license as applicable. PALS/NRP may be required depending on neonatal care needs; additional licensure or certifications may be required based on position and specialty. #J-18808-Ljbffr Westerly Hospital
