Description

Our Revenue Cycle Management team works closely with our patients to provide pre and post appointment services to ensure a seamless transition for their medical care. We work closely with insurances to ensure proper and timely filing of claims as well as receipt of payment.

• Processes inbound calls in a timely manner.
• Educates on explanations of benefits and claims/charges.
• Maintains patient charts with appropriate data entry, insurance information and communications.
• Posts patient and insurance payments accurately in electronic medical records system.
• Processes insurance denials and claims resubmissions as need.
• Creates and submits secondary claims.
• Interprets EOBs to resubmit or appeal insufficient or denied claims.
• Bills electronic and manual claims as directed.
• Works aging claims as directed.
• Maintains productivity consistent with defined department standards.
• Follows PHI security and HIPAA compliance in accordance with federal laws.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years experience in a medical setting
• Knowledge of Diagnosis codes
• Knowledge of Modifier usage.
• Be a team player and work well with others
• Be dependable, punctual, and professional
• Be organized, efficient, and ethical
• Be computer confident
• Be able to multi-task
• Have the ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instruction

Education:

• Certified Professional Coder Certification or Certified Billing and Collections Specialist (or similar) desired but not required
• Knowledge of medical terminology a plus.
• Electronic Medical Records experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in Dermatology billing desired but not required
• Radiology, laboratory, and allergy billing experience desired but not required
