About the Role:

A well-established law firm is seeking an experienced Insurance Coverage Litigation Associate to join its California practice. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with 3 6 years of litigation, arbitration, and/or insurance or reinsurance experience to handle sophisticated insurance coverage and defense matters while working alongside an experienced legal team.

The successful candidate will conduct legal research, draft litigation documents, develop case strategies, and represent clients in court proceedings, arbitrations, and mediations. This position offers meaningful responsibility, exposure to complex insurance disputes, and opportunities for continued professional development in a collaborative legal environment.

This is a full-time, hybrid position based in California.

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle insurance coverage and insurance defense matters on behalf of insured clients.
• Manage litigation and arbitration matters from initial assessment through resolution.
• Conduct legal research and draft legal memoranda, pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery documents, and other litigation-related materials.
• Analyze legal issues and develop effective litigation strategies.
• Manage discovery, including document review, depositions, and related proceedings.
• Prepare cases for hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
• Participate in court proceedings and alternative dispute resolution processes.
• Evaluate coverage issues, claims, defenses, and potential liabilities.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and other stakeholders.
• Manage multiple matters simultaneously while maintaining strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Collaborate with colleagues to deliver practical legal advice and high-quality client service.

Required Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school, with strong academic credentials.
• Active admission to the California State Bar is required.
• 3 6 years of experience in litigation, arbitration, insurance coverage, insurance defense, and/or reinsurance matters.
• Experience handling discovery, depositions, trial preparation, and court proceedings.
• Strong understanding of litigation procedures and insurance-related legal issues.
• Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent time management, organizational, and case management abilities.
• Ability to manage competing priorities while meeting deadlines.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and a commitment to professional excellence.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Annual salary ranging from $185,000 to $235,000, based on experience and qualifications.
