Position Summary

Pipeway Energy Construction is seeking a Payroll & HR Support to support payroll and employee administration for a team of approximately 50 employees. This position is responsible for accurate construction payroll, certified payroll submissions, union payroll reporting, fringe benefit calculations, and project setup in our third-party payroll system. The ideal candidate is organized, comfortable working across multiple reporting portals, and able to resolve payroll questions with project managers and field supervisors.

Key Responsibilities

· Collect, review, and reconcile employee time by job, work classification, and pay period; follow up on missing or inconsistent entries.

· Prepare and process regular payroll, including ( Union when required) and prevailing wage payroll.

· Prepare, review, and submit certified payroll reports for applicable federal, state, and contractor requirements.

· Enter payroll information and supporting documents into government, general contractor, and third-party reporting portals; track submission deadlines and resolve rejected reports.

· Calculate and verify project-specific wage rates and fringe benefits, including applicable cash fringe and benefit contributions.

· Prepare union payroll reports and benefit remittances; reconcile hours, classifications, rates, and contributions.

· Set up new projects in the third-party payroll system, including job codes, wage determinations, labor classifications, union information, and reporting requirements.

· Maintain organized payroll records and supporting documentation for projects, audits, and employee inquiries.

· Coordinate with project managers, foremen, Accounting, and HR to address timekeeping, payroll, and reporting discrepancies.

· Provide HR administrative support, including employee records, onboarding paperwork, and payroll-related changes, while maintaining confidentiality.

Qualifications

· Experience processing construction payroll, including certified payroll and union payroll, required.

· Working knowledge of prevailing wage rates, labor classifications, and fringe benefit calculations.

· Experience submitting reports through government and contractor payroll portals.

· Strong spreadsheet skills and experience with payroll or construction accounting systems.

· Ability to manage several projects and deadlines at once with close attention to detail.

· Clear communication skills and sound judgment when handling confidential employee information.

Experience in commercial utility, underground construction, or public works projects is preferred.

What Success Looks Like

Payroll is accurate and on time; projects are set up correctly before payroll begins; certified payroll and union reports are submitted by their deadlines; and discrepancies are identified and resolved promptly.
