Senior IT System Administrator - Azure

Salary: $94,620 - 127,248 per year Requirements:

• We require ten years of qualifying professional system administration experience in a full-time professional IT environment.
• Alternatively, we accept a bachelors degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a closely related discipline, plus six years of qualifying professional IT experience.
• Alternatively, we accept an associates degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a closely related discipline, plus eight years of qualifying professional IT experience.
• Qualifying experience includes working with current Windows Server operating systems.
• Qualifying experience includes supporting physical and virtual servers.
• Qualifying experience includes managing or supporting cloud resources such as Azure, Amazon, and similar platforms.
• Qualifying experience includes administering and managing PKI certificates.
• Qualifying experience includes supporting DHCP, DNS, and Active Directory.
• We require the ability to take action to learn and grow.

• Preferred certifications include Microsoft, Server+, VMware, Cloud, or CompTIA credentials.
• We require three professional references with current telephone numbers.

• We serve as a lead subject matter expert on our servers and systems, supporting field office managers, the Service Desk, DevOps, and Application & Data Management teams.
• We independently plan, test, configure, and deploy servers and virtual workstation infrastructure across physical, virtual, and cloud environments, including hardware and software upgrades.
• We build and maintain core network services such as Domain Controllers, DNS, DFS, DHCP, and related infrastructure to agency standards.
• We troubleshoot complex installation and upgrade issues on our own or alongside technical staff and developers.
• We use monitoring tools, command-line utilities, and scripting to diagnose and resolve difficult network infrastructure problems.
• We administer Active Directory, including group policies, site replication, organizational units, groups, computers, and printers.
• We manage DNS records, DHCP scopes and reservations, and SSL certificates across our platforms.
• We administer print servers and the Follow Me Print application.
• We monitor server performance across multiple platforms and help resolve statewide outages.
• We respond to Service Desk tickets that require advanced technical support.
• We handle incident tickets routed to Network Operations, document resolutions, and create hand-off guidance for recurring issues.
• We support projects and work items coming through ADO.
• We act as a subject matter expert for server creation, modification, and support on new initiatives.
• We collaborate with the broader Network Operations team on ongoing operational work.
• We resolve server access and service issues for agency staff statewide.
• We represent Network Operations on Incident Response Teams when server expertise is needed.
• We participate in incident response as a technical resource for network infrastructure issues.
• We bring best-practice methodology and problem-solving insight to cross-functional resolution efforts.
• We respond to network and server incidents 24/7 to maintain availability and reduce business impact.
