The Shipping Manager will oversee the preparation and shipment of tools, equipment, and other domestic and international goods. As the sole shipping operator within a cross-functional operations team, this role will coordinate routine bookings, monitor carrier performance, ensure accurate documentation, and maintain consistent packaging standards using carriers such as UPS, FedEx, and DHL.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate domestic and international shipments of tools, equipment, and mixed goods.
- Prepare packages using appropriate materials, including boxes, plastic bags, and WD-40 oil where required.
- Book routine shipments through UPS, FedEx, DHL, and other approved carriers.
- Monitor carrier performance and track shipments through delivery.
- Complete accurate domestic and international shipping documentation.
- Generate shipping labels using Avery or similar label-printing software.
- Standardize packaging practices and ensure compliance with packaging standards.
- Maintain packaging materials and support inventory control for shipping supplies.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in shipping and logistics.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience with international shipping.
- Knowledge of shipping documentation requirements.
- Experience using FedEx, DHL, and UPS.
- Proficiency with label-printing software.
- Knowledge of packaging standards and proper packaging practices.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
