The team is multilingual and strives to make care accessible, with locations near hospitals in largely Hispanic neighborhoods such as Humboldt Park, Little Village, Gage Park, and Belmont‑Cragin. Sonrisa has grown to seven locations and continues to expand, building its reputation through word‑of‑mouth and patient‑centered service. Role Description This is a full‑time, on‑site Dental Assistant role based in Berwyn, IL. The Dental Assistant will support dentists during examinations and procedures, including preparing treatment rooms, arranging instruments, and assisting with chairside tasks. Responsibilities include taking and processing dental x‑rays (as permitted), preparing materials for restorations, and assisting with impressions and other clinical procedures. The role also involves sterilizing and organizing instruments, maintaining infection control standards, and ensuring equipment and operatories are clean and stocked. The Dental Assistant will help with patient intake and education, updating records, reviewing medical histories, providing post‑treatment instructions, and supporting front‑office workflow as needed to ensure a smooth, patient‑focused experience. Qualifications Demonstrated skills in Dental Assisting and chairside support during a variety of dental procedures. Knowledge of Dental Care, Oral Care, and basic Dentistry concepts to effectively support providers and educate patients. Experience with Sterilization, infection control protocols, and maintaining a safe, compliant clinical environment. Familiarity with dental instruments, x‑ray procedures (as permitted by state regulations), and operatory setup and breakdown. Current Dental Assistant certification or completion of an accredited dental assisting program preferred; CPR/BLS certification strongly preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a diverse, multilingual environment. Excellent attention to detail, reliability, and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced clinical setting.
