Part Time Academic Coach | $25.00 per Hour | Monday–Thursday | Houston, TX 77373

Job Summary

Our client is seeking an Academic Coach to support the academic success of youth and young adults ages 14–21 who are currently in or have aged out of foster care. This role provides personalized tutoring and academic coaching in both individual and group settings, primarily at Residential Treatment Centers.

The ideal candidate has experience tutoring core academic subjects, including higher-level math, science, and language arts, and is skilled at helping students strengthen executive functioning skills such as time management, organization, and study strategies. Patience, empathy, flexibility, and the ability to connect with youth from diverse backgrounds are essential.

Responsibilities

· Provide individual and group tutoring and academic coaching to youth in foster care.
· Support students with school assignments and the development of executive functioning skills, including time management, organization, and study strategies.
· Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student attendance and academic progress.
· Ensure all required registration forms and assessments are completed and current.
· Travel to assigned coaching locations, participate in required training, and adapt to changing student schedules and program needs.

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree preferred; candidates with some college education will be considered.
· At least 1 year of experience tutoring core academic subjects, including higher-level math, science, and language arts.
· At least 2 years of experience working with youth ages 14 and older.
· Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, current liability insurance, and willingness to travel to multiple tutoring sites throughout Houston and surrounding areas.
· Access to a personal computer and Microsoft Teams, with flexible availability Monday–Thursday during after-school and early evening hours.
