About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to serve as an executive-level business partner with a broad mandate and autonomy. The successful candidate will lead operations for all asset and property management, construction, finance, and compliance, with a focus on delivering strong outcomes for affordable housing units and projects. Key responsibilities include overseeing and optimizing business processes, financial forecasting, and project execution in complex, regulated environments, as well as acting as a strategic advisor for growth initiatives, board engagement, and community partnerships. The COO will also be responsible for mentoring and developing staff, promoting succession planning, and driving continuous improvement across all functions, and must have a strong background in financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, project finance, and financial statement interpretation. Applicants for the COO position at the company must have 7 to 10 years of senior leadership experience in real estate, affordable housing, or commercial lending/banking, and a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. A Master's degree and experience in affordable housing, community development, real estate development, nonprofit management, or public sector operations are preferred. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of various housing and development programs, as well as experience managing federally, state, and locally funded programs, and working with nonprofit boards and community stakeholders. The role requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record in operational sustainability and mission alignment, and the ability to direct critical risk management, regulatory compliance, and audit readiness for a substantial portfolio of assets.
