Shipping Clerk

Position Description Shipping, picking and packing experience needed for a fast‑paced warehouse environment. The individual is responsible for material handling, performing electronic computer transactions, and using RF handheld scanners. Fulfilling customer orders may require using a forklift to offload containers and loading containers. Forklift experience is required for consideration. Essential Functions And Responsibilities Examine shipment contents and compare with records such as manifests, invoices, or orders to verify accuracy. Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, damages, or discrepancies for reporting, accounting, or record‑keeping purposes. Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, or shipping orders, to route materials. Confer or correspond with establishment representatives to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, or nonconformance to specifications. Pack, seal, label, or affix postage to prepare materials for shipping, using hand tools and power tools. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse using FIFO and 5S principles. Perform other duties as assigned. Work Experience Requirements Experience in order picking, packing, manifesting, and finished‑goods put‑away within a manufacturing environment. Ability to speak, understand, read, and write English. Good written and oral skills, detail‑oriented, results‑focused, and ability to navigate company computer systems; familiarity with bill of material structuring basics. Capability to complete all company training courses and operate equipment required for this position. Capability to operate hand‑held scanners performing picking and processing transactions. Capability to operate material‑handling equipment, including forklifts. Ability to lift 50 lbs. Core Skill Requirements Experience with shipping heavy materials with a forklift and loading into freight carriers. Experience packaging UPS or FedEx shipments. Cycle counting finished goods and spare parts. Organizing returned product within a specified area. Education Requirements High school diploma or equivalent, or related experience. Forklift certification preferred.
