Registered Nurse - PACU

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provides comprehensive patient care within the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), ensuring safe and efficient recovery from anesthesia. Works collaboratively with healthcare teams to monitor, assess, and respond to patients' post-operative needs.

Responsibilities:

• Administer direct and indirect patient care, including assessments and interventions for post-anesthesia patients.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, nurse managers, and team members regarding patient status and changes in clinical condition.
• Respond quickly and accurately to any changes in patient response, including diagnostic results and symptoms.
• Perform general nursing duties with adherence to hospital protocols and standards of care.
• Assume responsibility for the care of unit patient populations, demonstrating clinical competence and safety.
• Adjust schedule as needed, including floating to other units and working weekends or holidays to meet staffing needs.

Qualifications:

• Possess current Ohio state nursing license.
• Hold BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (AHA approved).
• Have pre-operative and post-operative nursing experience.
• Demonstrate ability to conduct thorough patient assessments and communicate effectively.
• Capable of working independently and demonstrating leadership in crisis situations.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
